Hi, I'm Jon Atlas. Despite being a certified personal trainer with over 25 years of fitness experience, I wasn’t immune to life's challenges. After dealing with personal issues, including depression, I let my fitness slip and found myself at 215 pounds, barely able to look at myself in the mirror. I felt lethargic, struggled with low energy, and found it hard to stay motivated. It was a tough reality check, but I knew I had the power to change.

Through dedication and strategic changes, I turned my life around, losing 35 pounds in just five months while GAINING muscle. As the weight came off, I noticed more than just physical changes—my energy levels soared, my mood improved, and I felt a renewed sense of purpose. I was no longer just going through the motions; I felt more focused, driven, and excited about life again. This journey not only transformed my body but also reignited my passion for fitness and strengthened my commitment to helping others facing similar struggles.

Key strategies for this transformation:
 

  • Nutrition First: I realized that prioritizing high-protein foods at every meal, balanced with moderate carbs and fats, was essential for fueling muscle growth and recovery.

  • Stay Active Daily: By committing to 6-8K steps a day, I kept my metabolism active and burned extra calories, even outside of workouts.

  • Regular Workouts: I focused on 3-4 high-quality strength training sessions each week, which not only built muscle but also boosted my metabolism significantly.

  • Cardio: I kept cardio to once per week, either through basketball or HIIT training.

  • Athletisism: I incorporated plyometric exercises into my strength training sessions to maintain and improve my athleticism. This approach helped enhance my mobility and supported my overall performance in other workouts.

  • Consistency is King: I made weekly check-ins a priority, assessing my workouts, nutrition, and other important habits to stay on track. Reflecting on my progress allowed me to make necessary adjustments, keeping my momentum strong and my goals within reach.​

At 43, I’m in the best shape of my life, but the transformation went beyond the physical. It gave me back my confidence, reignited my passion for life, and reminded me of the power of perseverance. My journey isn’t just about weight loss; it’s about reclaiming control and building a life that aligns with my values.
